My Ultraceuticals journey : Day 0 – 30

Ever since I first got into skincare I’ve always been a bit of a wanderer, trying products from different brands and mixing up a cocktail of different serums and potions. With what I do on my blog and Instagram page it basically comes with the territory that I try products from lots of different brands so that I can share a variety of reviews with you. But when I was presented with the opportunity to try Ultraceuticals products I thought it would be an interesting experiment to commit to it fully and follow the regime set out by their consultant. These products were gifted, but under no obligation.

I had a detailed online consultation over Zoom which lasted about 20 minutes. I talked through all of my skin concerns with Miriam (an Ultraceuticals Online Skin Therapist) and we decided that we would first focus on reducing pigmentation. The whole philosophy with Ultraceuticals is that you hone in on one thing at a time and gradually add products every month, one at a time. I really like this approach. I think any transformation that we seek when it comes to our skin is one that won’t happen overnight. With pigmentation especially, you have to play the long game.

After my consultation, Miriam sent through a detailed plan of what I should be using in the morning and evening.

During the first 30 days I used the following products:

Ultra Brightening Foaming Cleanser (AM & PM)

Ultra Hydrating Mist (AM & PM)

Ultra Moisturiser Eye Cream (AM & PM)

Ultra Brightening Serum (AM)

Ultra B2 Hydrating Serum (AM & PM)

Ultra Brightening Moisturiser (AM & PM)

Ultra Antioxidant Complex (AM)

Ultra Protective Daily Moisturiser SPF 50 – Hydrating (AM)

In addition to these products I also use a facial oil when I feel that I need it, a barrier serum (Rebound Serum from tbh skincare) and a barrier cream (Jordan Samuel Skin Moisture Recovery Cream or the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5). My skin is notoriously dehydrated so I don’t ignore its needs just for the sake of sticking to a strict routine.

At the completion of my 90 day Ultraceuticals program I’m going to review all of the products in detail because I think that will give the best indication of how I feel about each one. However, I can really confidently say that I am enjoying each product texture, scent and experience and how they work together, so far. They layer beautifully and give my skin an unreal glow. If I had to pick my three frontrunners it would be:

1. Ultra Protective Daily Moisturiser SPF 50 – Hydrating for its gorgeous, silky texture and easy application/absorption. I also love that it comes in a 100ml tube, something that is rare for facial SPFs.

2. Ultra Brightening Serum which I’ve found to be quite potent and it just does what it says on the box. My skin has never looked more luminous.

3. Ultra Antioxidant Complex for its innovation and priming qualities. This product smells so good and make-up applies really beautifully over the top.

Moving into days 30 – 60 I will be introducing a Vitamin A serum, Vitamin A eye cream, a face mask, exfoliating gel as well as increasing the frequency of the brightening serum. For now please enjoy this before and after of Day 1 and Day 30. I’m so pleased with how my pigmentation is fading! I’ll check in again with you at day 60.
